After the Vermundian knight points out the path leading to the ruins in Flickering Shadows, the main quest Convergence immediately starts.

The cutscene at the end of Flickering Shadows showed the ruins but also the entrance of the Stormwind Cave.

Therefore, head inside the Stormwind Cave and head to the southmost area of the cave. Eventually, you will find yourself in an area baked with blue light and an archway leading to a deeper area.

If you’ve reached this place before, you will know that the archway was once blocked but is now open after the ruins emerged from underwater. This leads to an inner dungeon called the Seafloor Shrine.

Explore the Seafloor Shrine

Once inside the Seafloor Shrine, use the stairs on the right and go down. Pass through the doorway with two statues; one of them is broken. You can also choose to go up the stairs east from doorway.

Enter the doorway and keep walking until you reach the end of the hall. The end of the hall is a circular room with a high ceiling and an ominous figure in the middle. Move close to the middle to trigger a cutscene.

A conversation unfolds with the ominous figure seated on the throne in the middle of the room. It speaks to you, initially using an unrecognizable name. As the conversation progresses, it introduces itself as a former Arisen and the founder of Vermund, Rothais. Rothais is a Beastren who was once an Arisen, the person the Rivage Elder was talking about in his tales.

Rothias appears to be engaged in a battle with the “Watching One,” assumed to be the Pathfinder. He initially assumes that you are the Pathfinder’s Pawn, another Arisen commanded to kill Rothais. Rothias mentions, “time and again have you sent unto me your minions. Yet repel them I have…” indicating a prolonged battle with the Pathfinder.

However, Rothias notices that you do not seek to fight him and acknowledges it. So, he asks what you are seeking. You tell him of the Godsway, and he explains that it is the soul of the Arisen, often gathered by the Battahli in bits and fragments in the form of the blue crystals you gave Ambrosious in the Flickering Shadows quest. The “splinters” that the Battahli find are from Arisens that Rothias struck down in defense.

Rothias also tells you that he believes the Battahli want to improve and use the Godsway, something he does not approve of, referring to their efforts as “perverted arts.” He senses a “powerful” will in you and entrusts you with his own soul despite his initial doubt of your intent to wield an “Arisen’s Soul.”

Then, Rothias channels every last ounce of his power and soul into a blade and gives it to you. The blade is the “soul of an Arisen: mine own, in fact. Refined in purest dragon blood.” However, it has dulled and lost its power over time. He suggests that the “Battahli’s profane magick” may know how to awaken its lost potential and commands you to seek it out.

Your conversation with Rothias ends, and the cutscene shifts focus to a stone statue seemingly awakening.

You spoke with Rothais.

After speaking with Rothias, control of the Arisen is given back to you and the quest Convergence ends. The next main story quest A New Godsway immediately starts and your objective is to deliver the blade, called the Godsbane, to Ambrosius.
