A Case of Sculptor’s Block is a side quest in Dragon’s Dogma 2. The quest starts when you meet a woman named Mildred who tells you about a home she intends you to look after as a tenant.
A Place To Call Home Walkthrough
The quest A Case of Sculptor’s Block can trigger randomly while passing through the Noble Quarters in Vernworth. Approaching the castle front entrance, a Noble named Klark should stop you and ask if you are interested in admiring his sculptures.
Klark then tells you that his sculpture is incomplete and requests that you aid him in completing it by going to Bakbattahl. The conversation ends, and the quest A Case of Sculptor’s Block immediately starts.
Apparently, you are going to Bakbattahl to meet a sculptor named Fulvio. Depending on how far you’ve come in the Main Story, you can either choose to go straight to Bakbattahl or hold this off until the main story quest tells you to; hitting two birds with one stone.
Find the sculptor

Once you reach Bakbattahl, look for Fulvio’s Workshop in between the Residential Ward and Mercantile Ward. In there, you can find Fulvio sitting. He will notice you if you come close and ask if Klark sent you.
Fulvio will then tell you that he has not made the statue Klark is working on and requests that you assist him in creating a sketch of a griffin. He states that he knows where a griffin resides and will be waiting for you.
FIght the Griffin and Stall for Time or Petrify it
From Fulvio’s statement, it can be assumed that you can either (1) stall time when fighting the Griffin or (2) petrify it so Fulvio can create his sketch properly.

How to acquire a Medusa Head
To get a Medusa Head, you will have to kill a Medusa quickly and without damaging its head too much. The Medusa can be found in ruins in Wrymsblood Forest southeast from Bakbattahl. In Wyrmsblood Forest, find a cave entrance leading to the Nera’Battahl Windrift where a Medusa resides.
As a general tip, use physical damage to defeat the Medusa quickly. Magic damage has a higher chance of messing up the face of the Medusa than killing it immediately.
On your way to Nera’Battahl Windrift, you will also encounter different enemies from Hobgoblins and Venin Harpies to Bandits and Red Wolves. So, be prepared.
Arrive at the meeting place
Meet with Fulvio right outside of Wasteland Griffin’s Nest, found north of Bakbattahl and south of Checkpoint Rest Town.
Fulvio will then lead you to the Griffin itself, and now fight the Griffin. After you defeat the Griffin or let Fulvio sketch it fully, you will have to wait a few days’ time to return to Fulvio and receive the Statue.
Outcomes

If you kill the Griffin too quickly, Fulvio will be disappointed in you and make a subpar sculpture when you come to him. Returning to Klark with this sculpture will have him present it to an audience which will be disappointed with what they see. Klark then is furious, but rewards you for your troubles.
If you stall long enough or petrify the Griffin, Fulvio will be able to take his time and work on a beautiful sculpture when you come to him. He will also extend an invitation to you to attend Fulvio’s reveal of the statue.
Return to Klark in Vernworth and find him on the 2nd floor of his estate. Once you reach the location, a cutscene will play out where he reveals the statue. Klark and his audience applaud the sculpture, and he thanks you.
This marks the end of the A Case of Sculptor’s Block quest.
