A Trial of Archery is a side quest in Dragon’s Dogma 2. After completing the Gift of the Bow quest, return to Roderick’s Smithy to find Glyndwr once again and start this quest.
A Trial of Archery WALKTHROUGH

When you finish the Gift of the Bow quest with Glyndwr, he informs you that he is now prepared to undergo the Trial of Archery. You can accompany him to the trial by returning to Roderick’s Smithy, where you meet him again.
Glyndwr approaches you and explains that the Trial of Archery will take place a bit far away, so he asks you to meet him at a campfire near his training spot in the Mountain Ruins.
Head towards the Mountain Ruins, go north, and cross a log bridge to find the campsite where Glyndwr is waiting for you. Once you approach, he greets you and leads you towards the Sacred Arbor.
Patiently follow Glyndwr until you reach the Sacred Arbor, where an elf stops you from entering. The subtitles indicating what the elf is saying are not in a readable language, as the Arisen and you do not understand the language of the Elves.

Glyndwr points this out and suggests sticking with him while in the Sacred Arbor. During your time with Glyndwr, you will see readable text in a real-world language when talking to elves. You can also use this time to explore the Sacred Arbor, as Glyndwr is there to translate their language for you.
To continue the quest, follow Glyndwr, and he will lead you to the Arborist’s Home.
Upon reaching the Arborist’s Home, Glyndwr notices the lack of personnel guarding the place. Taliesin, the current ruler of the Elves and father of Glyndwr, explains that Doireann, his daughter and Glyndwr’s sibling, has been abducted by an ogre. As a result, the Trial of Archery has been postponed.
Glyndwr immediately asks for your help to save Doireann, and Taliesin marks the location where she was taken. Go to the marked location, which is the Ancestral Chamber East from the Sacred Arbor.
You’ll find Glyndwr outside the entrance to the Ancestral Chamber, where an injured Fearoth and Linneisl come out to greet you. They warn you of the dangers ahead, but Glyndwr reassures them that everything will be alright with you and the Archer-master Tailesin there to save Doireann.

Explore the Ancestral Chamber until you reach the final room where Doireann and the ogre are located. Along the way, you’ll encounter different monsters like wolves, choppers, and harpies.
In the final room, you’ll see Tailesin in combat with the Ogre. Glyndwr will take aim at the ogre and shoot it to make it drop Doireann. Here, you regain control and have two solutions to the quest: Pick up Doireann and run outside the Ancestral Chamber, or defeat the Ogre.
Regardless of which solution you choose, both Glyndwr and Tailesin are grateful for your actions. Tailesin also acknowledges Glyndwr’s deeds despite using a human-made bow.
Before you leave, talk to Tailesin to complete A Trial of Archery quest.
You can talk to Tailesin once again by returning to the Sacred Arbor where he will ask you to escort him somewhere. This is another side quest, but one that is not marked in your quest list even when triggered.
