Head upstairs and locate Wilhelmina in her room. However, Rolf, an employee of the chateau, will inform you that Wilhelmina is currently assisting a patron at her front door.

Enter Wilhelmina’s Room and approach the wall where you previously observed the false Sovran during The Stolen Throne quest. There should be a framed picture on the wall, and a simple examination of it will progress the quest.

The game then shifts to a first-person view, with you peeking at Wilhelmina and Allard conversing. Allard appears to be trying to win over Wilhelmina, hoping for her partnership. Wilhelmina escorts Allard out, and she actually catches you peeping.

From the other room, Wilhelmina then invites you to speak with her. She expresses gratitude for “interrupting” their conversation, preventing her from harming Allard.Wilhelmina reveals her intention to end Allard’s life, but only after revealing his wrongdoing.

However, Wilhelmina lacks evidence against Allard and is considering giving up. At this point, you can offer your assistance, triggering the Every Rose Has Its Thorn quest.

Wilhelmina accepts your offer but sets a deadline of three days to gather the necessary evidence. If you fail to meet this deadline, she will abandon the pursuit.

Gather evidence within 3 days.

Proceeding with helping Wilhelmina immediately initiates the quest, but you only have three days to complete its objectives.

The first locations that should come to mind when seeking evidence against Allard are Allard’s Estate in the Noble Quarter and Allard’s Chambers in Vernworth Castle. You might also consider seeking assistance from individuals such as Ser Brant and the Queen Regent’s son, Sven.

Let’s start by seeking advice from Ser Brant and Sven. Sven can be found in his chambers in Vernworth Castle.

When speaking with Sven, he will admit that he knows nothing about Allard. Instead, he suggests seeking out a man named Patrick.

Patrick can be found at his estate at nightfall. If you started the quest at night, then you can do all these in one night.

A marker should appear on your mini-map at one of the houses in the Noble Quarter. Proceed to that house immediately.

You Spoke with Lord Patrick

After speaking with Lord Patrick, he immediately expresses his disdain for Allard and suggests distracting him by inviting him over while you investigate his home.

The gameplay then switches back to you, and you should proceed to Allard’s home just a few steps away.

Wait for Allard to step outside, then enter his home. There may be a guard near the entrance, but he will ignore you. Head to the second floor and enter the room next to the stairs. Inside, you’ll find bookshelves, a closet, an office desk, and another desk with a rose painting above it.

Approach the rose painting on the left wall above the lone desk and examine it. A rolled-up letter titled “Murder Report” should fall down. Pick it up.

The report describes an old murder, with Allard’s involvement being uncertain but likely.

Next, visit Ser Brant for the next piece of evidence. Choose the dialogue option “Tell me of the Myrmecleon.” He’ll discuss Wilhelmina’s plot and suggest consulting the merchants for information about Allard.

If you’ve acquired the Murder Report, you can immediately give it to Ser Brant or wait to do so later.

Now, search the houses in the Merchant Quarter. The house with the evidence is located between the Vernworth Portcrystal, West Vernworth Oxcart Station, and Clovis’s Barberie. Inside, you’ll find an item on the desk named “Bribery Investigation Findings.”

Report back to Ser Brant with the Bribery Investigation Findings.

Deliver both the Murder Report and Bribery Investigation Findings to Ser Brant. He’ll read each separately and discover Allard’s underhanded dealings. Despite the evidence, Ser Brant can’t condone assassination attempts but places his trust in you.

You can ask Brant for more aid or accept whatever help he offers independently. Choosing the second option is preferable.

You Secured Ser Brant’s Aid

Now that you have Ser Brant’s help, return and report to Wilhelmina.

What happens if I only give one evidence?

Giving Wilhelmina only one evidence will lead to her capture and eventual death. You will not be able to see Wilhelmina after assisting her against Allard and you cannot save her as she will not be present in the Vernworth Gaol.

What happens if I don’t have Ser Brant’s help?

Escaping after assisting Wilhelmina will be much harder as noone will be able to assist you in choosing the right route. You will most likely be seen by pursuing guards and will have to escape farther from the area.

Deliver both pieces of evidence, and Wilhelmina informs you that your partnership has ended. However, if you choose “Leave” in the next question, she asks if you want to see her plan through to the end. Opting to “Continue offering your aid” allows you to participate in her confrontation with Allard.

Assist in the Assassination

The game fades to black and reappears with Wilhelmina wearing a mask. She instructs you to follow her and simply do as she asks. Once you step outside her room, she informs you that Allard is in the room beside hers. She then requests that you go in and restrain Allard.

Enter the designated room and hold the Grab button while moving toward Allard. Afterward, a cutscene plays out.

Wilhelmina, wearing a Beastren mask, confronts Allard, who is being restrained by you, kneeling in front of her.

Wilhelmina mentions a murder that Allard seems to have forgotten: he killed a merchant and the merchant’s wife, who happened to be Wilhelmina’s parents. The couple had a newborn child who was taken away by their loyal wet nurse. Allard realizes that Wilhelmina is that child, a miracle since offspring between a human and a Beastren are always Beastren, until now.

Wilhelmina then removes her mask, revealing an eye that her hair usually covers. Initially, both eyes are human, but one of them transforms into a Beastren’s eye.

Wilhelmina stabs Allard twice in revenge for her parents’ death. She leaves the evidence on his body just as a guard knocks at the door, checking on Allard’s condition.

Wilhelmina murdered allard

Now that you two are trapped in the room, both of you must find a way to escape. Fortunately, the balcony beside Wilhelmina has a broken fence, which you can drop from. If done correctly, you should land on a cart full of hay (Assassin’s Creed reference?)

Since you’ve received aid from Ser Brant, he will be waiting by the cart and expresses disbelief that you would “stoop so low.” Nonetheless, he assists you by leading you to the rear entrance. Before departing, Wilhelmina instructs you to meet her at the borderlie the following evening.

Simply follow Ser Brant to the Pawn Guild. Wait until the next evening and meet with Wilhelmina at the Rose Chateau Borderlie.

You then learn from Wilhelmina that the people in the palace have treated Allard’s death as accidental as investigating on it and making it public would rouse troubles. This is because of the evidence you successfull gathered against Allard. As your reward, Wilhelmina thanks you and spends a night in the borderlie with you.

The quest Every Rose Has Its Thorn ends here.
