Home is Where the Hearth is a side quest in Dragon’s Dogma 2. The quest begins when you return to Melve a few days after finishing Readvent of Calamity.
Home is Where the Hearth is WALKTHROUGH
After completing Readvent of Calamity, return to Melve. A guard will stop you when you arrive, but you can offer to bribe him 5000 G to let you pass through.
Regardless of the choice you make, the Home is Where the Hearth is quest starts right after your conversation with the guard. The next quest objective is immediately marked: Speak with Lennart.
Speak with Lennart
Go to Ulrika’s Home where Ser Lennart now resides. On your way, you might find citizens of Melve being mistreated by knights. You can choose to help them and make enemies, but you can’t speak with Ser Lennart if you are being attacked.
Speaking with Lennart, you learn that the Queen Regent has decided to punish Melve by stopping passersby from entering and leaving the village, as well as putting them under harsh treatment.
The citizens of Melve have had enough and are now seeking to leave the village. In a letter received by Ser Lennart from Ulrika, she informs him that the new village she is in can house them if they seek refuge.
Now, Ser Lennart wants your help to get them out of the village.
Procure four swords and give them to ser lennart
Ser Lennart will ask you to get him weapons to ensure they are prepared for their journey. You will now have to obtain four swords and deliver them to Ser Lennart.
Now, walk along the street next to Ser Lennart’s house. You will find two men speaking to each other; approach the two men.
Ian and Norbert are planning to retrieve equipment from the storage house but are hesitant. However, your presence changes everything as Norbert decides that they will distract the guards so you can get the equipment they need. If you choose to accept, Ian will run towards the guard and distract them, leaving the storage house open.
Enter the storage house and loot the chests where the weapons can be found. Don’t worry about Ian, as Norbert has helped him out and they are safe.
Return to Ser Lennart and deliver the four swords you acquired from helping Ian and Norbert.
Repel the soldiers stationed in Melve
Now that Ser Lennart and the citizens have their weapons, they can leave Melve. However, knights will stop them from doing so. You now have to help them fend off the knights.
After defeating the soldiers, Ser Lennart thanks you and they set off to Harve Village where Ulrika now resides.
Bring word of Melve to Ulrika after a few days’ time
Let days pass by and report back to Ulrika in Harve Village. If you can’t find her in the middle of the village or in any of the houses, she can be found at the docks by the Harve Village Beach.
Meet Ulrika at Night Time
When you speak with Ulrika after saving the people from Melve, she will thank you and ask that you meet her at night. Pass the time by resting at the inn, in camp, on a bench, or by traveling.
Return to the docks where Ulrika was, and a cutscene will play out where you and her are sitting by the beach. She recalls all that has transpired between the two of you and offers herself as your home if you ever long for one. After she tells you this, Ulrika leans forward and kisses you, then the cutscene ends.
You return to one of the houses in Harve Village, and the Home is Where the Hearth is quest officially ends.
