House of the Blue Sunbright is a side quest in Dragon’s Dogma 2. The quest begins when you are interrupted by a maid while going to The Slums in Vernworth and after completing The Gift of Giving side quest.

The House of the Blue Sunbright Walkthrough

After completing The Gift of Giving side quest, a maid may interrupt you while heading to the Slums in Vernworth. She’ll be standing by the staircase near Mildred’s Home and the Slums.

The maid informs you that the person she serves needs some help, and she believes you are the one who can provide it. Introducing herself as an employee of a manor, she invites you to visit their manor in the Noble Quarter.

The manor in question is named Townsend’s Estate, and is easily found since it is right beside a small fountain.

Upon entering the Manor, the maid greets you and introduces the son of the manor. They explain the circumstances that led to their request for help.

Sebastian, the son, is trying to find someone who will to pose as him to distract his sickly mother while he attends to other matters.

After their explanation, Sebastian ask if you are willing to help them. You have the option to accept or decline the request. If you agree, the House of the Blue Sunbright quest immediately starts.

Accept the quest and then head to the Slums of Vernworth to find Daphne from The Gift of Giving side quest.

If you’ve been attentive to random NPC conversations, you may have heard hints that Daphne bears a striking resemblance to Sebastian.

Once you find and speak with Daphne, you’ll need to escort her back to Townsend’s Estate.

The maid will then take away Daphne in preparation for her role as Sebastian’s replacement, while Sebastian prepares to leave Vernworth. Apparently, Sebastian wants to head to Melve to find a flower, and you are tasked to help him prepare.

Talk to Daphne and Diana, Sebastian’s maid, to get to know what Sebastian needs for his trip to Melve. Daphne tells you that the safest way to get to Melve is bringing something that “reeks of Cyclops,” while Diana tells you that Melve is rife with plants that inflict poison and drowsiness.

So, find items that “reeks of Cyclops,” and can cure poison and drowsiness.

Curatives that heal poison and drowsiness can be given to Sebastian such as Detoxifying Concoction, and Waking Powder. As for the item that “reeks of Cyclops,” simply give Sebastian an item looted from a cyclops’ body such as a Beast-Steak, Misshapen Eye, or Rugged Bone.

I tried using a Beast-Steak, but it doesn’t seem to be a good item to give because Sebastian gets attacked as well.

Once you have delivered the two curatives and cyclops loot, Sebastian will then travel to Melve safely.

Alternatively, you can give Sebastian the wrong items, but it will result in him getting attacked. Diana will inform you of Sebastian’s condition, and you will have to save him. Keep in mind that this is a timed objective, so you have to quickly come to his aid. Otherwise, he will die on the way to Melve.

Once Sebastian is done with his travels, or you’ve saved him on his way to Melve, report back to Diana.

When you come back to the manor, a conversation will occur between you, Daphne, Diana, and Sebastian. Eventually Sebastian’s mother wakes up and finds the three of you downstairs. She asks that you leave but asks for Diana to come to her room for a conversation.

This officially completes the House of the Blue Sunbright quest.
