Hunt for the Jadeite Orb is a side quest in Dragon’s Dogma 2. The quest begins when either Offulve or Everard approaches you when you first get in Checkpoint Rest Town.
Hunt for the Jadeite Orb Walkthrough
A beastren merchant named Offulve will approach you in your first visit in Checkpoint Rest Town, asking if you’ve seen an item called the Jadeite orb. He says that it was stolen from him while traveling and that he needs it to be delivered to a certain someone.
After your conversation with him, the quest Hunt for the Jadeite Orb will immediately start.
While walking around the town, another merchant named Everard may approach you. He tells you that he knows about the orb that Offulve has lost and is trying to find it as well. He asks that you give him the Orb if you found it.
The quest can start either way.
Hunt for the Jadeite Orb can be started by either Offulve or Everard, depending on which one talks to you first.
If you want to have a go at this quest but is simply looking for a hint, go talk to one of the inmates in the Vernworth gaol. He will tell you to go to Ibrahim’s Scrap Store to forge a Jadeite Orb. You can skip this part and immediately go to Ibrahim’s Scrap Store if you want.
Go to Ibrahim’s Scrap Store, and you will find the Jadeite Orb in Ibrahim’s possession. The only way to get it is to buy it from him.
Once you have the Jadeite Orb, you have three options at your disposal: you can give it to Offulve, you can give it to Everard, or you can duplicate it by forging one using Ibrahim, then giving one the original and the other the forgery. The last choice also has different outcomes, depending on which merchant you give the fake and the other the original.
If you want to maximize your gains, forge the Jadeite orb through Ibrahim’s Scrap Store. Go to the shop and speak with Ibrahim. One of the services he offers is creating forgeries; choose that option and select the Jadeite orb.
Wait a few days and return to Ibrahim to take the forgery. Once you have both the forgery and the Jadeite orb, proceed to choose which one of the two you want to give the real and fake to.
Giving Everard the Real Jadeite orb and then Talking to Offulve
If you give Everard the real Jadeite orb, you will receive a reward from him.
If you talk to Offulve after giving Everard the real Jadeite orb, you have three options to choose from:
- Aye (Give the genuine article)
- Not as yet.
- ‘Twas nowhere to be found.
Do Not Give Offulve the Fake Orb
If you choose the second option, he will stand by and wait for you to give him a Jadeite orb or a forgery of one. If you choose the last option, the quest will end.
Give Offulve the Fake Orb
Having a forged Jadeite orb when you speak to Offulve in this instance will provide you an option to give the forged orb. If you give him the forged Jadeite Orb, he will accept it and reward you for the trouble. The quest then ends here.
Giving Offulve the Real Jadeite orb and then Talking to Everard
The same options will be given to you if you give Offulve the real Jadeite orb and then talk to Everard. The only difference is that Everard will verify if the orb is fake or real.
Give Everard the Fake Orb without doing anything
If the orb you give Everard is fake, and you let him check it without doing anything, he will accuse you of being a liar. Everard will also get executed because he cannot produce the real one.
Give Everard the Fake Orb and Bribe Ibrahim to Lie
Alternatively, you can immediately talk to Ibrahim after Everard gives it to him to check its genuineness.
You can then bribe him with a total amount of 12,000 G for him to lie to Everard and say it is genuine.This will allow you to end Everard’s quest without him finding out it is fake and receive the rewards for giving the orb to him.
Giving Offulve and Everard Real Jadeite Orbs through the sphinx Riddle
A final option we can offer is duplicating the Jadeite orb through one of the Sphinx’s riddles. This way, you can give both Everard and Offulve real Jadeite orbs, but honestly, this is too much work so we suggest you don’t do it.
