Readvent of Calamity is a side quest in Dragon’s Dogma 2. The trigger to the quest begins with a cutscene near the Gracious Hands. To begin the quest itself, talk to the nun named Elena, who requests your assistance in gathering medicinal ingredients.

Readvent of Calamity Walkthrough

When you get back to Melve after proving your identity as an Arisen in Vernworth, you will find that the village is, once again, attacked by a dragon.

Once again, you are tasked to join the battle against the Dragon in Melve. Aside from the Pawns you have in tow, the residents of Melve, Ser Lennart, and Ulrika will help you out.

To defeat the dragon, aim for the bulbous pus that is littered around the dragon’s body.

The dragon won’t do any elemental attacks, but look out for its regular physical attacks and fire breathe. Another move the dragon will do is spill toxic liquid from its mouth and chest when you destroy all the bulbs on its body.

The dragon also has a great chance of getting knocked down after all the bulbs are destroyed.

The dragon will also regenerate the bulbs on its body after some time, but it will scream first, which might stun everyone around it for a bit. Getting stunned will also drain all your stamina. So be wary of the dragon’s scream.

After dealing enough damage, it will fly away. Ulrika will thank you, and the camera will briefly pan to a dark-skinned warrior with a double-tipped spear behind him. Ser Lennart will also be there to thank you.

The dark-skinned warrior will also talk to you and clarify that the dragon was not a real one but a poor imitation only. You will also learn that his name is Sigurd, and you can talk to him further to learn about his fighting style: one made by himself and specifically designed to defeat dragons. It also seems like he knows that you are the true Arisen.

Now, the quest should tell you to revisit Melve again later on. Let a few days pass by and return to Melve.

If you talk to a man outside Ulrika’s house named Amr, he will tell you that an odd man visited her house.

Go into Ulrika’s house to find Ulrika and the man named Martin talking. As it turns out, Martin is an underling of the Queen Regent and has come to report to Ulrika that she has failed her duty as an acting chief.

Ulrika tries to defend herself but Martin twists her words and calls her a traitor. Martin walks away, and Ulrika is free to talk to.

Speak to Ulrika where she tells you to spend the night.

Upstairs, Ulrika tells you that she is grateful that you helped her defend Melve. The two of you sleep together, and you find her gone from Melve in the morning.

You step out of Ulrika’s house with Martin seeking her out as she has been branded as a traitor to the kingdom. Ser Lennart tells Martin that Ulrika has run away. The conversation ends, and Martin walks away.

Ser Lennart speaks to you afterward and asks that you find her. Your next objective is to find Ulrika.

Ulrika can be found in Harve Village, located west of Vernworth.

Upon reaching Harve Village, head to the center of the village where you’ll find Ulrika standing. Speak with her, and she’ll explain that she came to Harve village because it, too, was attacked by the Dragon. She’ll also mention that she can’t return to Melve, as doing so would endanger its people.

Relation to the Scaly Invaders Quest

After speaking with Ulrika, return to Melve to inform Ser Lennart.

Find Ser Lennart in Ulrika’s Home at Melve, and he will express his gratitude for your report. As a reward, he’ll give you a Ring of Grit, officially concluding the quest Readvent of Calamity.
